Fr. Richard Rohr elaborates the need the world and all of us to read Scripture in all its liberating power.
Fr. Rohr shows that religion is about wisdom and not just information. It has to do with holding opposites together and gives meaning and significance to the essential tragic nature of life. These inherent tragedies of life will not be overcome, as we expect, by science, reason and technology. Only the cross and resurrection of Jesus give them any real significance or meaning.
Activity and contemplation are one. Prayer is the investment of the whole person — mind, heart, will, and body. We need to know who we are and not only who we think we are. We need conversion.
Contemplation allows us to break our images and face our dark side. To contemplate well, we need to be quiet — to leave room for God. Once we see who we are, we can return to the struggles of life knowing that contemplation and action are one.
Fr. Rohr is truly charismatic and inspirational.
