IDENTITY CRISES IN PRIESTLY MINISTRY The Use of Metaphors in Identity Change |

|
There is a continual identification of priesthood with the ‘what’ of being a priest: caring for others, pastoral and sacramental ministry, and prayer. When the Church can address the personhood of the priest rather than the mere duties of a priest, there will be an effective shift in the paradigm that is associated with the priesthood. As metaphors are used to accomplish organizational change in businesses and organizations, so, too, metaphors can be used to address the issue of priestly identity from the ‘what’ toward the ‘who’ of priesthood. Produced in collaboration with the National Institute for Clergy Formation of Seton Hall University. CDAH4891 CD |
