In this second volume of Preparing your children to love, Dr. Lisa Klewicki, wife, mother and psychologists, explains the need to know the faith and to live the faith in order to share the faith with children. She explains how to interact with a child from ages 0-2, 2-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Each stage off early life presents unique challenges and opportunities for the parent to reveal God’s love and wisdom of the Church. Dr. Klewicki in all of her presentations gives examples of what to say to children at each point in their development. Each child needs to be given a sense of reverence and awe about who they are and how they should treat and be treated by others.
One of the problems in society today is that little children are given too much information too soon and older children are not given enough information. The correct approach presented in this volume is designed to instill in the child a sense of trust and optimism that will lay a solid foundation for their futures. It is important to have the child really understand how much they are loved by God and by the parents. The conversation between children and parents is ongoing and life long., just as our relationship with God. Dr. Klewicki attunes the listener to always telling children the truth but in terms that are age appropriate and that the children can actually grasp and understand.
