Prayer has been called the “lifting up of the mind and heart to God”. It is a way of connecting with the Almighty. Prayer is what we turn to whenever there is a need or crisis in our life. But what is true prayer? How do we know that the thoughts and cries of our heart reach the Lord, and how do we know He listen? Does He care? Will the Lord answer us? If He does, will we be able to recognize His answer when it comes? If we want to know what kind of prayer will please the Father, all we need to do is look at all the elements contained in the beautiful prayer that we have come to know as the Our Father. If we can model all of our prayer on its pattern, we will know that our prayer will be pleasing to God. This book, by examining each phrase of the Lord’s Prayer in detail, helps us to do precisely that.
