It is a striking fact that the Rosary, the Marian prayer par excellence, is taken up almost wholly with the Son of Mary and is totally Biblical.
The author sets out to study the firm Gospel foundation of the Rosary. He does not intend to update the prayer or suggest a new way of saying it but carefully examines its New Testament grounding with the eye of a Scripture expert. Scene after familiar scene is shown to possess depths of meaning unsuspected even by those who have been praying the Rosary all their lives.
In this excellent book, Fr. Harrington shows that the great Marian prayer will always be a treasured Church devotion. Those who have remained faithful to it will be overjoyed to find that they have not remained faithful in vain and the younger generation will discover here fascinating insights guaranteed to make them feel that the Rosary is more worthwhile than ever.
