Against the backdrop of the tragedy of 9/11, Fr. Groeschel explains the desire for survival, happiness, love, the thirst for God and God’s thirst for us, and our longing for a peace that the world can never give.
This series will help the listener to better aid all those who border on despair, are weighed down with grief, are adrift without faith, are lonely and feeling loveless and filled with inner anxiety. Drawing on the scriptures, the writings and examples of the saints, philosophers and psychologists, Fr. Groechel helps the listener to be caught up in a dynamism that is realistic and powerful. He shows that the key to sanity as well as sanctity in a world intoxicated with materialism, hedonism and spiritual madness is "to seek the Kingdom of God" that Jesus established and to incorporate the values of that kingdom into our daily lives.
In spite of the violence, religious fanaticism, corruption of every sort that permeates our culture, our world and even our Church, Fr. Groeschel presents a positive picture of God’s mercy and the capacity of human beings to become heroes in the kingdom of God.
This can only happen if we keep our eyes on the goal of eternal life with the God of love. In the Gospels, the teaching of Chris, the writing of St. Paul and the Evangelist John there is emphasized this hope for life ever lasting. It is this hope that make us strong. Fr. Groeschel shows how taking the heart the Good News of the Gospel is able to counter and overcome the "bad" news and distortions that are proclaimed by the media and celebrated in pop culture.
