TEACHING CHILDREN TO PRAY

Anyone who works with children knows that, in order for children to grow spiritually, they must learn how to pray. And the teaching of prayer is our obligation, as it was handed down to us from Jesus who said, “Pray this way.” Sr. Carole Riley explores the mandate to teach children to pray by exploring some of the assumptions, needs and experiences of God that are about children, from children and for children. She gives us the tools we need to help children develop approaches to faith and prayer that are realistic and positive, by teaching us how to teach children meditation, the value of silence, rituals, traditions and public worship. This is excellent material for mothers and fathers and those who work with children.
