THESE SACRED DAYS
Walking with Jesus through the Sacred Triduum

These brief but powerful, prayerful and meditative reflections on the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Blessed Lord take us through the most meaningful and defining days of Holy Week: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. The reader is led to experience the drama of those fateful days, moving swiftly through the sorrow and agony of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane to the act of betrayal on the part of Judas and denial on the part of Peter to the trial before the Sanhedrin. The narrative brings to life the raw details of the trial before Herod and Pontius Pilate, the fate of the prisoner, and the mood of the mob. The account of the Way of the Cross makes us one of the participants in that awful journey that ended in the crucifixion and death of our Savior. Finally, all the pages of reflec¬tion, prayer and meditation are brought together and reach their climax in the reality of the Resurrection. The text is written to encourage slow, reflective consideration of the material and is conducive to a greater understanding and appreciation of the Sacred Triduum. The reader is meant to feel that he or she is actually present at these events and is not just a casual, uninvolved observer.
