These brief meditations on the Scriptures used in the daily celebration of the Mass during Advent and Lent are meant to be “as rain that falls” upon parched and open minds and hearts, awakening them to a life of greater love, prayer and service of the Lord. There are two “homiletic reflections” for each day which will serve equally the needs of those who will use this book as a source of personal meditation as well as of those who are charged with the sublime ministry of proclaiming the good news from the pulpit during these two seasons. About the Author: Father Charles E. Miller, C.M. has been Professor of Homiletics and Liturgy since 1956 at St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California, the theological seminary for the archdiocese of Los Angeles. From 1978 to 1987 he served as rector of the seminary.
