In an age where image is everything and the very idea of truth is often relegated to the irrelevant, it is refreshing to find a book that restores this stable and necessary value to the place of prominence it once held in society when people accepted the truth and based their lives on it. Opinion polls, political expediency and popularity contests may have their place in the world, but they have little if any importance when it comes to the things of heaven, the truth about God, His existence and His relevance to us, and the objective and enduring norms which He has set forth to guide us to our eternal salvation. This third book in Father Apostoli’s trilogy on the Holy Spirit may well be the most important, given the timeliness of its contents and the seriousness of its message. “It is my hope,” he writes, “that this book will enlighten all who read it in regard to the wonderful role of the Spirit of Truth in our daily lives. May it also inspire its readers to have a greater personal devotion to the Third Divine Person of the Blessed Trinity and a greater confidence in His constant presence and working in our lives.” About the Author: Andrew Apostoli, CFR, is the Community Servant of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. His many talks on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), along with his retreats and parish missions, have endeared him to millions. Young people are especially attracted to him because he “tells it like it is” and is not afraid to challenge them to follow Christ more closely and, inspired by the Spirit, to live the truth in love. The other two volumes in his trilogy on the Holy Spirit are The Comforter: The Spirit of Joy and The Gift of God: The Holy Spirit. ISBN-10: 0-8189-0780-0ISBN-13: 978-0-8189-0780-7 Book: 159 pages |
